Hey all, this is my first post here and I thought I would bring a little gift.
http://home.attbi.com/~will.d.andrews/mikemangini.WMV
Theres the link. If anyone has any questions about what he is doing I could probably analyze it and post it. Some of the stuff is hard to hear since the video is compressed a little wierd. I studied with him @ Berklee for a year and a half and his teaching have opened many new doorways of creativity in my drumming. This is a pretty technical solo w/ all sorts of polyrhythms and flashy techniques but I've heard him be extremely musical as well.
I have some cool live Sting stuff w/ Vincent some of you might want to hear. I could upload it within the next few days and I might put up a drum solo video of me as well.
Steve, thanks for creating a such good spot for the drumming community! I've read in an interview with Sammy from Apex Theory that you live in WA state, which is where my band Omni plays. If anyone is interested checkout the mp3.com site in my signature and take it easy.

Hey thanks for the Magini link. He's got good chops.
Thank also for the kind words about the site.
Actually Sammy is from Washington, I myself am not. He and I are real good friends. He's a great drummer. = )
If you have some good Vince stuff, I can host it here for all to check out! Let me know and WELCOME!

I have plenty of good live sting stuff w/ Vincenco to send you, I just have to edit some clips and make mp3's out of them first.
Also once I get the mp3's made where should I upload them to?
Thanks Steve

that'd be killer, omni [Vin clips]...
...& I dug the polyrhythmic concepts MMangini did during that solo clip, & some nice double-kick work, AW [I know this solo was more about chops & "conceptual-chops" oriented stuff than purely 'musical,' but it's still good stuff - & whassup wit dat CLEAN Mangini 1-handed snare drum roll [w/ either hand]?!!!! He does that sh** better'n Chambers does!!!!

Yeah Mike has a sick one handed roll, with both hands. Actually he can lead with the opposite side of his body as well. There is so much more to him than whats in this solo as I've seen him live plenty of times. I know what this guy can do and he deserves to be up there with all of the technical freaks today. I feel that he is very under-appreciated.
As far as the Vinnie clips go I will have some time tomarrow to chop them up and upload them, although I will have to take down the Mangini clip to make some space available for upload.
As far as my band goes I have plenty of clips (video) available with me with my band doin' a buncha drum stuff if anyone is interested. They are about 6 months old and of decent quality. One clip has an on the spot solo, which is definitely lacking but its still a solo.
Just lemme know...
